Therapy
at CCRC 4251 Legion
Rd. - 107 Hope Mills,
NC 28348 910-429-0600
I began home therapy (and Homebound
schooling) the same week I returned home from Duke Medical Center. By the
forth week after surgery, I was going to therapy at CCRC 2 days a week. I
have been going to therapy ever week since then. It has been pretty intense.
But I have been lucky to have such good therapist. They have took a personal
interest in me and have made it fun for me to continue with therapy as long
as I have. With Rotationplasty,
there's a lot I have to do to get my leg ready for a prosthetic. The more
range of motion (plantarflexion, dorsiflexion) I can get, the more I can
bend my leg.

Shannon & Jen measuring (plantarflexion) It's been a slow process getting ready for
my prosthetic. It was not until June 2007 that I began wearing it all day. I
gradually worked up to it by wearing it a few hours a day. Now I put it on
as soon as I get up and I don't take it off until I go to bed. I have had a
few set backs in wearing the prosthetic. The main problem has been in grown
toenails.

for the first time with my prosthetic. This is Rich Davis. He is a good friend.
He's always here to help me whenever I need anything or have questions.
